US death penalty at 30-year low

The number of people sentenced to death in the US reached a 30-year low last year, when the death row population fell for the third year, the government reported yesterday.
Richard Dieter, executive director of the Death Penalty Information Center, said concerns about the penalty are reflected in fewer death sentences from juries.
