The Death Penalty - A View from an European
As of November 2004 in Alabama, there have been 33 City Councils that have voted to adopt a moratorium on executions.
Bitta Slopianka, Chairperson of the German Coalition against the Death Penalty, recently presented arguements at one of these city council meetings, for proposing a moratorium. She has this to say about that experience, as well as several statistics compiled from The Death Penalty Information Center.
