Prisoners of Age

I have been doing research for a possible thesis film: the rise of elderely in prison. In my search I came across a photography exhibit, called Prisoners of Age.

The portraits explore the socio-economic causes of crime and delinquency, encouraging viewers to contemplate "the human dimension of doing time while growing old in prison." Check it out. It's something that you don't really think about until you see it.

It's amazing the things you find on the web... The website you're speaking of is my own project, photographed in 12 prisons since 1996... and its always nice to hear that someone actually saw the show... now, as far as the date goes, did you see the exhibition in Dublin or at Alcatraz in 2001?

Just an aside, a producer from Vancouver followed my team and I to prisons in Canada and the US to make a documentary that will open at the Whistler Film Festival and the Santa Fe Film Festival in December. Then on CBC Roughcuts in Canada and shortly after in the US.

Really glad you enjoyed the exhibition. It's a tough subject and at the same time a wake-up call for many of our legislators to do something about it before our prisons become over-crowded old-age homes.
