17 Years on Death Row--A Mistake
Prosecutors dropped murder charges Tuesday against a Texas man who spent 17 years on death row for a crime he may not have committed.
James Blank, Willis' lawyer, said he hopes his client will be released from prison as early as Friday.
Willis would be the eighth death-row inmate freed in Texas since capital punishment resumed in 1974.
